AMD has entered a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion. If the deal closes as planned by the end of 2026, Fei-Fei Li will become AMD's executive vice president and chief scientist while the World Labs team continues its work on spatial intelligence and world models.

On September 25, a federal jury in San Diego awarded Taction Technology exactly $5,721,961,750 after finding that Apple's Taptic Engine infringed three claims across two Taction patents. The number is enormous; its legal status requires more precision. Apple disputes both infringement and the damages and says it will appeal. For now, this is a $5.72 billion jury verdict, not $5.72 billion safely deposited in Taction's account.
