Privacy Policy

Runtime Chronicle limits the collection of personal data to what is necessary for the site to operate, for its security, and to handle contact requests.

Data controller

The data controller is the publishing entity identified in the legal notice.

Contact to exercise your rights
To be completed before final legal publication

Adapted to your jurisdiction

The level of collection applied depends on your jurisdiction, determined server-side from information limited to an approximate country/region (never precise geolocation). Within the European Economic Area: nothing beyond what is strictly necessary is collected before your explicit consent. In a jurisdiction with a recognised opt-out mechanism (e.g. California): the configured collection applies by default, and you can opt out — a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser is automatically honoured as an opt-out request. If your jurisdiction cannot be determined with confidence: the most restrictive regime applies by default.

Data concerned

Technical browsing data

Like any online service, the site's hosting infrastructure records technical logs for each request: IP address, date and time, requested URL, user-agent. This information is necessary for the security and technical operation of the service.

Cookies, local storage and audience measurement

A cookie management banner offers six independent categories: strictly necessary (always active), audience measurement, personalization, advertising, profiling and sharing/partners. Your choice (and a random pseudonymous identifier, never based on a technical fingerprint) is recorded by our own consent-management service — not a third-party provider — and cached in your browser's local storage. The server always re-validates what is actually allowed for every event sent.

Contact

The Contact page currently provides email addresses ("mailto:" links) rather than a form: no data is collected, stored or transmitted by the site itself when you use these links — your message is sent directly from your own email client.

Purposes and legal bases

Processing Purpose Legal basis
Technical logs Security and operation of the service Legitimate interest
Responding to a contact request Process your message and reply to you Legitimate interest
Audience measurement Traffic statistics, service improvement Consent
Personalization Recommendations and content preferences Consent
Advertising Targeted advertising, editorial funding Consent (objectable via GPC where applicable)
Profiling Interest segments inferred from reading Consent
Sharing / partners Sharing data with partners Consent, independent of the other categories
Strictly necessary cookies Technical operation of the service, consent state Necessary for the service to work

Retention

Data linked to a contact request is kept for the time necessary to process the request and, where necessary, for a limited period allowing follow-up or applicable obligations to be managed. Audience-measurement/personalization/advertising/profiling events are kept under a declarative, per-data-type retention policy; the durations currently configured are technical default values awaiting final legal validation. No precise retention period is currently configured for the hosting provider's technical logs.

Recipients

Data is accessible to the authorised editorial and administrative team, to our own consent-management and audience-measurement service (self-hosted, never handed to a third party as such), as well as to the hosting provider and the technical service providers strictly necessary for the service to operate.

Third-party services

No third-party service (analytics, advertising, external fonts, CDN, social networks, video) is currently integrated into this site.

Your rights

In accordance with applicable data protection regulations, you have, under the conditions they provide for, a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, a right to data portability where it applies, and a right to withdraw your consent at any time where the relevant processing relies on it. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL) — the French data protection authority.

Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are implemented to protect your data. However, no security measure can guarantee absolute protection.

Your privacy preferences

We would like to measure audience and, if you allow it, personalize your experience. You can accept, refuse, or choose in detail. No non-necessary category is enabled without your consent.

Strictly necessary Always on

Required for the site to work: language, consent state, security. Always active.

Traffic statistics. If refused: only whatever exemption your jurisdiction may allow is measured.

Recommendations and content preferences. If refused: the same content for everyone.

Ad delivery and measurement. If refused: no targeted advertising.

Interest segments inferred from your reading, separate from plain audience measurement. If refused: no segment is computed.

Sharing data with partners, independent of the other categories. If refused: no sharing.
