One size, three loud personalities

The Watch GT 7 Pro was introduced globally in Munich on September 2. Unlike the standard GT 7, the Pro is offered only in a 46 mm-class case measuring 45.6 mm across and 11.25 mm thick.

It weighs about 55.5 grams without the strap. Huawei combines an aerospace-grade titanium alloy case with a raised nano-tech ceramic bezel and sapphire glass over the display.

Yellow, green and black EasyCross versions are available. The colors are not particularly shy, especially the yellow model.

The AMOLED display is rated at 3,000 nits

The circular screen measures 1.47 inches and uses a 466 × 466 AMOLED panel. Peak brightness rises to a claimed 3,000 nits under Huawei's specified laboratory test conditions.

That upgrade makes sense for the kind of watch Huawei is building. Ski slopes, exposed trails and long daytime rides are exactly where display brightness stops being a specification-sheet decoration.

Battery life still depends heavily on how it is used

Huawei quotes a maximum of 21 days in light use, 12 days for its typical-use profile and seven days with the always-on display enabled. Trail-running mode is rated for up to 51 hours.

A full wireless charge takes about 95 minutes according to the manufacturer.

The 21-day headline therefore describes the most restrained usage profile. AOD cuts that figure by two thirds, although seven days remains unusually long beside many full-featured smartwatches.

Sunflower positioning gets a new winter job

Huawei's Sunflower Positioning System now works with its AI-XDR algorithm, with the company claiming 20 percent greater route precision for high-speed snow sports.

The new ski modes record data including turns, turn frequency, speed, descent and G-force. More than 3,000 ski resorts across 59 countries are supported by downloadable maps containing slope names, difficulty grades and lift information.

Indoor skiing and snowboarding modes are included too, which is rather more specialized than another generic workout tile.

Cyclists get route planning rather than just ride recording

A route prepared in Huawei Health can be synced to the watch before a ride. The GT 7 Pro then shows the elevation profile and upcoming terrain, with alerts for climbs that include distance, elevation gain and average gradient.

Sharp-turn warnings are designed to arrive before the rider reaches the corner. Afterward, individual climbs can be broken down for performance analysis.

Smart-trainer connectivity extends the same approach indoors.

The Pro name still buys extra sensors and outdoor modes

Golf support includes more than 17,000 courses, slope-adjusted distance information and a rotating green view. Offline mapping is available for running, while trail mode adds altitude, gradient and remaining-time guidance.

The watch is also rated for freediving to 40 meters and includes a depth sensor alongside dedicated apnea functions.

Health tracking goes beyond heart rate

Huawei includes ECG hardware, temperature sensing and HRV monitoring alongside the usual optical heart-rate system. A 30-second ECG reading can be initiated using the side electrode.

TruSleep 5.0 handles sleep analysis, while PPG-based pulse-wave analysis can provide alerts related to potential atrial fibrillation and premature beats where the feature is available.

Huawei also combines sleep, recovery and activity data into daily health insights. These wellness functions are not substitutes for medical diagnosis, and availability differs by market.

The ecosystem remains the trade-off

Android 9 and later are supported, as is iOS 13 and newer. Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, a speaker and microphone are built in, allowing Bluetooth calls from the wrist.

There is no announced eSIM version. Independent launch reviews also continue to find limitations in Huawei's third-party app and phone integration compared with the deepest Wear OS and watchOS ecosystems, particularly when paired with an iPhone.

That familiar compromise has not disappeared. Huawei is putting the engineering budget into endurance, sensors and sport rather than turning the GT into a miniature phone.

France starts at €379.99 during the launch offer

Huawei's French store currently lists the Watch GT 7 Pro at €379.99, €50 below its €429.99 recommended price. The promotion is scheduled to run through October 18.

The standard Watch GT 7 starts at €249.99. The Pro premium therefore buys the titanium and ceramic construction, sapphire glass and the broader set of health and specialist outdoor features.
