The G09 is part of AULUMU's IFA 2026 lineup announced on September 1. Visitors will be able to try it in Berlin alongside the company's M10 power bank, A18 cases and other mobile accessories.

This is a showcase rather than a launch. AULUMU originally introduced the G09 as part of its Fall/Winter 2025 range and subsequently demonstrated it at CES 2026.

The hinge is the product

Instead of one folding ring, the G09 uses independent movement across three axes. AULUMU describes the arrangement as X, Y and Z rotation with 360-degree adjustment.

The practical result is a phone that can be shifted, tilted and rotated without the user repeatedly repositioning the entire stand.

A precision damping mechanism is supposed to keep each position in place. That durability claim ultimately needs long-term use to verify; AULUMU's specifications only describe the intended behavior.

There is a magnet on the other side for a reason

One magnetic face holds the phone. The other can attach the assembly to a ferrous surface.

That makes the G09 useful in places where an ordinary kickstand is awkward: a refrigerator while cooking, metal gym equipment during a workout, or an appropriate metal fixture when recording video.

For non-magnetic mounting points, AULUMU includes an adhesive magnetic ring.

It is not restricted to iPhones

AULUMU lists direct compatibility with the iPhone 12 through iPhone 17 generations. Other devices can use the included ring, and magnetic cases can provide another route for compatible Android phones.

That does not mean every phone and case combination is guaranteed. Magnetic strength, case thickness and the surface being used still matter.

The hardware stays unusually small

The aluminum version weighs 35 grams, measures 6.7 centimeters long and is 6.15 millimeters thick according to AULUMU.

It folds against the rear of the phone when not being used as a stand. The large outer ring doubles as a grip, and AULUMU also supplies alternative ring options including a glow-in-the-dark silicone version.

Thirty-five grams is light for a multi-joint aluminum accessory, although adding that weight to a large phone and protective case will still be noticeable.

The filming use case is about placement, not just rotation

“360-degree” phone accessories are easy to find. The more useful part of the G09 is that several joints can be combined after the accessory has already been attached somewhere.

For a quick recording setup, that can provide more control over framing without requiring the footprint of a conventional tripod.

AULUMU specifically lists filming alongside work, entertainment, fitness and travel as intended scenarios.

It still does not replace a tripod or gimbal

The G09 needs either its own resting position or a compatible surface to attach to. It cannot create the height and independent footing of a proper tripod.

There is no motorized stabilization either. For walking footage, a gimbal remains a fundamentally different tool.

Its appeal is immediacy: a grip and highly adjustable stand can remain attached to the phone instead of living in another pocket.

AULUMU now has two versions of the idea

The aluminum G09 highlighted for IFA is available in black and silver. A separate G09 Ghost arrived in May 2026 with a transparent polycarbonate design while keeping the same broad three-axis, dual-magnet concept.

AULUMU will exhibit at IFA 2026 from September 4 through September 8 in Hall 5.2, Booth 197.
