HoYoverse says the first trailer contains a mixture of gameplay footage and in-engine cinematics captured using Unreal Engine 5. It also states that the title remains in development and the footage should not be treated as final.

There are no announced PC specifications and no console performance modes because there are no officially announced platforms yet.

Realistic rendering is the visible part of the engine change

The Gamescom footage moves through large natural landscapes, heavily detailed faces, ruins and giant creatures rendered with a much less stylized material response than HoYoverse's best-known games.

The company describes regions with distinct ecosystems, cultures and histories. That establishes an art-production goal, not an open-world specification. World size, asset streaming and level structure have not been detailed.

Unreal Engine 5 also should not be used as shorthand for a particular feature set. HoYoverse has not confirmed Nanite, Lumen or any specific UE5 rendering subsystem for the shipping game.

Co-op encounters may be the harder visual problem

Several Weavers can be seen engaging huge mythological enemies while different attacks and effects compete for screen space. Official combat descriptions emphasize teamwork, pressure, Styles and Skill combinations.

Large targets are relatively easy to make impressive in a trailer. Keeping their attacks readable when several players are producing effects around them is a different problem, and one short reveal cannot tell us how well Nodusfall handles it during an entire encounter.

The current footage is therefore more useful for identifying priorities than judging implementation.

There is still no performance context

No resolution target has been announced. No frame-rate target has been announced. There is no PC minimum or recommended configuration.

Without a platform list, even apparently straightforward questions about upscaling, ray tracing, memory requirements or CPU load do not have responsible answers yet.

The same applies to networking. HoYoverse confirms squad-based co-op but has not specified party limits, cross-play, matchmaking architecture or server topology.

What is actually confirmed

Nodusfall uses Unreal Engine 5 for the footage shown so far. It targets a realistic fantasy style, draws on multiple mythological traditions and builds its combat around cooperative encounters against large creatures.

Defeating those enemies supplies resources used to unlock new Skills and weapons, while Styles and loadouts can be adjusted around the needs of the group.

Platforms and release timing remain unannounced. Pre-registration is already live.
