Sony patents a PlayStation controller that could double as a contactless payment middleman
A game controller already handles movement, voice chat, haptics, sound and adaptive triggers. Sony has now documented another possible job for it: standing between your bank card and the console when you buy something. A newly published US patent application goes into remarkable detail about that idea, right down to lights, sounds and vibrations confirming that the transfer has started.
