The launch target is clear, the rendering setup is not

The console release is scheduled for August 25 at 11 AM Pacific on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S.

NetEase describes Quality Mode as 4K/60 FPS and Performance Mode as 120 FPS. It does not describe the latter as 4K/120, and no official resolution figure is attached to the high-frame-rate profile.

There is also no public breakdown for internal resolution, reconstruction, graphical cutbacks or dynamic scaling. Those omissions matter in a survival game capable of filling a scene with player-built structures, effects, enemies and other users.

Series S is the obvious machine to watch because it is included in the same broad performance announcement as Series X and both PlayStation models without a separate set of targets.

PS5 Pro support is confirmed, a Pro profile is not

Starry Studio's launch FAQ explicitly lists PS5 Pro as supported hardware. It does not claim a dedicated Pro mode, higher resolution target or different frame-rate ceiling.

Until the retail build can be measured, it would be premature to turn simple compatibility into a claim of specific PS5 Pro enhancement.

First person exposes another part of the porting work

The new console builds also arrive with Once Human's first-person mode. That feature is no longer console-exclusive: it went live on existing platforms in July.

Its implementation required changes below the camera itself. Starry Studio found that the third-person melee combo system produced excessive camera movement in first person and restricted movement in ways that felt unnatural from the new viewpoint.

Melee weapons can therefore attack while the player moves, while heavy strikes use a charge-and-release input. Shooting, traversal, gathering, consumables and vehicle camera behavior were adapted as well.

The conversion remains incomplete. Underwater movement, ladders, ziplines, Deviation skills and several special states are among the areas scheduled for further first-person work in September.

Console does not become a separate version of Once Human

The PlayStation download is estimated at roughly 80GB and the Xbox client at about 100GB. After launch, scenario timing and overall content are intended to remain synchronized with PC and mobile.

Cross-play extends across console, PC and mobile, while account linking allows progress to move between them. Console-exclusive servers remain available for players who prefer not to share an active server with PC and mobile clients.

The controller implementation adds differentiated rumble for large monsters, trigger resistance during boss fights and tactile effects for loot pickups.

The real performance comparison begins once the servers open and the four console configurations can be tested separately.
