Avengers Endgame: Encore opens September 25, with tickets now on sale. Marvel's campaign highlights both IMAX and Infinity Vision screenings, placing a familiar premium brand next to one Disney is only beginning to establish.

Infinity Vision does not mean one projector

Infinity Vision is a certification for Premium Large Format theaters rather than a single proprietary projection system. Disney's pitch is that certified auditoriums meet defined presentation requirements around screen size, image brightness and audio quality.

Participating exhibitors describe requirements including large screens and either immersive or 7.1 sound, alongside brightness targets for projection. Hardware can therefore vary from one certified venue to another.

That makes the badge closer to a quality threshold than a promise that every screening uses an identical technical chain. Viewers interested in the exact projector and sound configuration will still need to check the individual theater.

Marvel is adding a content incentive

Every Encore presentation is being marketed with an exclusive look at Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel says IMAX and Infinity Vision audiences will receive an additional sneak peek, giving those premium tickets a piece of content unavailable in the standard presentation.

Doomsday itself is also part of the Infinity Vision rollout when it opens December 18. Endgame therefore gives Disney several weeks to familiarize moviegoers with the label before its next Avengers event arrives.

IMAX remains a separate option

Nothing in the rollout suggests Infinity Vision replaces IMAX. Marvel is promoting the two side by side for Encore, while IMAX continues to operate as its own theatrical format and exhibition network.

The practical distinction is important: Infinity Vision tells viewers that an auditorium has passed Disney's PLF criteria, but the badge alone does not identify one universal projector or speaker configuration.
